Bel V4 Development coming along slowly

SciCast Nominations

Well, on Friday (14th) I discovered that my team and I were nominated for the "Best Technical and Artistic Use of Film... Film" award from SciCast (planet-scicast.com). While I think that we should have been nominated for more categories, I've looked at the other four films in our category and I can say that only one other film deserves the nomination, since it's the only other one which uses film artistically. Disappointing. Still, I think that with our giant digital windtunnel we should win the category... Fingers crossed.

SciCast challenge 2007/08

Well, three friends and I entered the SciCast challenge a few months back and now are video has just been put up on their website! Yay! The deadline was th 4th of January (08) and we hope the judges will decide soon, although the likelihood is that the final decision will be reached in April. Anyway, you can view the film here: aerofoils. We decided to do aerofoils; I did all the effects/editing/production etc... Wish us luck!

V4 development
2007-12-09
I recently started developing version 4 of the Blue Eye Labs website, which should be interesting. The main things I wish to address are Internet Explorer png fixes, which aren't properly implemented in this version, and also I'm going to be integrating AJAX/SPRY libraries to help make everything prettier. Another majorish change will be on the dev side only, because I'm changing the site structure a little and also making the code more object oriented. The portfolio is the the last major change, and it will be revamped so that Images, Animations and Web Design projects will be viewable directly from the menu bar at the top of the page. Otherwise everything is going to stay mostly the same.

Ok, I just added a contact form to the Contact page, so instead of having to email me conventionally, although you can do so should you wish, you can now just fill out a form, which is probably easier and more convenient, and it will make it easy for me to get back to you. Enjoy!

Now you can download images, and their names are displayed below them. You do this by clicking on the thumbnail and then clicking the download button. This can only work on some images, not all are downloadable!

I decided that since there are now 6 pages of images in the portfolio it is time for some upgrading. I've added a small function in the top left corner of the content area that allows you to jump to any page. The total number of pages is also displayed at the bottom of the content area.
I've also put in small safety checks to stop people trying to mess with the system by using decimal pages or pages greater than the total number of pages. Enjoy.

Blue Eye Labs V3 Goes ONLINE
2007-10-16
Finally, after a bit of hard work, version 3 of Blue Eye Labs has gone online!
Although the style has been kept the same, there are some noticeable changes, the most important being the category system in the portfolio, followed by the news system and the latest images displayed on the home page.
Last, but not least, everything is now compliant with W3C standards for XHTML and CSS.
